The CIRCLE Project Workshops

In the face of increasingly frequent and severe natural disasters, the need for inclusive, community-specific disaster resilience strategies has never been greater. This workshop brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to explore co-designed approaches that empower communities to anticipate, prepare for, and recover from disasters in ways that protect and sustain their living standards.

Focusing on the entire disaster cycle—from preparedness to long-term recovery—this workshop emphasizes collaborative methods that center on the lived experiences, local knowledge, and specific vulnerabilities of diverse communities. We will delve into tools and frameworks that enable meaningful participation, identify key risks to livelihoods, housing, and social well-being, and address the often-overlooked transitional phase between emergency response and recovery.

Participants will engage in an interactive session to co-create planning strategies relevant to the community. Whether you work in disaster risk management, urban planning, social policy, or community development, this workshop offers practical insights and co-learning opportunities to help communities not just bounce back—but bounce forward.

Join us as we build a shared vision of disaster resilience that is grounded in equity, tailored to local realities, and driven by collaboration
