Weak landspout is Manitoba's first tornado of 2025

The NTP has confirmed that a weak tornado occurred near Tourond, MB during the late afternoon of April 30. Analysis of photos/video, radar and the storm environment indicates that this was a landspout-type tornado. Given the tornado did not hit any EF-scale damage indicators, it has been assigned an EF0-Default rating which assumes a wind speed of at least 90 km/h.

Note that this is the first tornado of the year for Manitoba.
